Words of wisdom
While watching just the A-block of NBC Nightly News, I saw stories on flooding in Iowa (it's working it's way downstream, yo) drought and wildfires in the West, snow in the mountains of Washington, and the continuation of tornadoes and cyclones hammering the Midwest and Southeast. Follow that up with the realization that our energy policy is on shaky ground ($4 a gallon gas - it's only going up kids. Oil producing countries are exporting less) and you might start to see the picture we've been warning about. Climate troubles are in line with predictions of global warming and peak oil is indeed real. As I've said before, throw a gulf hurricane in there and we're going to feel it... bad.
I'm thinking Missouri is not a bad place to be. Aside from flooding, we're having a great weather year and I think history shows this be be a good place to ride out bad times. If we can get a grip on the fundamentals, we could be well positioned. So what is that about?
There's been a lot of talk about Bobby Kennedy lately, and I think that couldn't be more appropriate. Here is a couple of takes on his speeches that speak volumes to what we need to be thinking about. What's important? It all comes down to people...
